| I've been in love with German valve radios from my childhood for over 35
years now. I am nostalgic about the shape, design and advanced technology of
these radios during late 50's and early 60's, I was fascinated by the idea of
radio, what these radios do and how do these work, the machines those broadcast
signals and the machines those received it. I suppose a lot of it started with my Dad, who told me stories of his childhood enjoying great music, thrilling tales and radio shows. Tube Radios are beautiful, not just to look at but also the sound quality reproduced. These smell nice. It's an awesome aroma of old cloth and wood, electronic components and the layer of 40 year old dust carpet inside that's settled onto the chassis; a comforting sight and smell and sound. At night time in bedroom these radios look like alien spaceships landed in my bedroom!! My sincere thanks & gratitude to Ernst and his genius team for giving me an opportunity to join their world famous organization RadioMuseum...... Thanks! |
