Laurence W. Stewart, United States of America (USA) | |||
| I grew up in Chicago, Illinois, USA in the 1940's and 1950's. After seeing and hearing my Uncle's Grundig console about 1954, I was completely captivated;. Especially so after listening to the SW bands and realizing that I was listening to the other side of the world. I always wanted one and this summer, I stumbled across a well preserved SO162 console. which my wife has appropriated. I subsequently found a beautiful KS490WE I would restore "for me." Shortly after that, I found and purchased an SO190US that looks and sounds like it was placed in service yesterday. It came packaged with two extension speakers; an Isophon Stereo Colonna tower like speaker and a Telefunken Allvox-Strahler bookshelf style speaker. Both speakers look very good for their age. I will upload photos very soon. If you look closely at the SO190 photo in my collection you can see the Isophon tower extension on the left. | ||||
