Below you find a part of the radio collection Rolf Franke - including other related items. My interest in audio equipment goes back to being a teenager growing up in Hamburg,Germany. There I started out with a crystal set & headphones, eventually becoming involved in building simple radio sets, using military type tubes. I also owned a wind-up gramophone & quite a number of 78s, as well as a 1950s AM/FM/SW table radio. All of this I left behind when I immigrated to Canada in 1959. Here I renewed my interest by building my own stereo console in 1962. I incorporated a Körting 22516 unit, a Dual 1006A changer c/w mag p/u & pre amp, an ELPICO AC77 amp and 4 large oval shaped Isophne speakers (tweeter mtd in ctr),(2 for the Körting and 2 for the ELPICO). The cabinet is made of walnut vernier and measures just over 2 m long. Radio is front tilt out (motorized);access to changer and amp is manual(tilt down). Have all the mfg manuals & schematics, for the above items used, even the drawings for the cabinet . Will attempt to list all other items bit by bit. Anyone wishing to contact me in German, please do so. I understand the written and spoken word quite well. However, expressing myself in that language can now be rather difficult. Could I be called a serious collector? I don't think so. I just love to use and work with the items I have. |
Part of the radio collection of Rolf Franke. These pictures have been uploaded to the corresponding models by Rolf Franke but this is not necessarily all of Rolf Franke's collection.
