According to an add the Acopian Technical Co. is located at 1 Shimer Blvd., Parkside. (P.O. Box 638, Easton, PA 18044). The company was formed in March 1956.

History: The company's words: "One of the first products manufactured and sold by Acopian (even before we began producing power supplies) was a Solar Radio. This was in 1957. As far as we know, this was the first Solar Radio to be produced and sold in the world!"

Easton Express, Saturday, May 11, 1957 publishes an article about the first solar radio and shows it with Thomas A. Workman and Sarkis Acopian (not Acupian), partners in the Acopian Technical Co., Parkside. The two graduated from Lafayette in 1951, but Sarkis Acopian originated from Iran. Sarkis Acopian (1926 - 2007) was born in Tabriz, Iran to Christian Armenian parents who left Russia and Turkey and finally settled in Iran.
