How to combine FM radio and MPX adaptor in case of different manufacturers?

Dear Spiros,

I am not sure that the pin-configurations and / or the plugs and socket-outlets will match in case of different manufacturers of a mono or stereo FM-radio and the FM multiplex adaptor (MPX-unit), in Germany we usually call it "stereo decoder". You should have a close look at the respective wiring diagrams.

In general, you will have to design an "interface" of your own. But this is not difficult. In the attached figure is shown how one could carry out the connection between a Fisher (mono) tuner and a stereo decoder from Motorola. The operational (+120 V) and the heating voltage (6,3 V) may be taken from the radio/tuner in most cases (in my example with the four-wire cable, plug and socket-outlet from a PC).
Additionally you have to connect the (MPX-) output of the radio's FM-demodulator  with the MPX-input of the MPX adaptor/stereo decoder (the black cable with yellow plugs). Moreover, important is the disconnection of the deemphasis-RC-combination in case of a mono radio.

Please tell me if you need further information.
Best regards
Rolf
