Hello Mário

I'm sorry, but i only have comparision tables covering the production up to the early 50ies. Although i know, that tables covering newer radios exist, up to now i wasn't able to get a copy.

If you can give us more informations and pictures of your MD 2515 A, we maybe will be able to determin the according Philips model.

Kind regards, Walter

Vergleichschassis zu Mediator MD 2525 A You aren't logged in. (Guest)    5

Hello Mário

I've searched through all my Philips schematics and  ..... nothing!

I haven't found a Philips with the same tube line up, nor one with the same appearance.

What also intrigues me, is the fact, that in your Mediator not the normal Philips transformer with the thermal fuse is used and the IF-cans are not round as the ones Philips (and therefore also Mediator) used normally in the late 40ies or early 50ies.

The speaker is - as far as i can see on your picture - also not original but a later replacement.

I'm sorry not to be able to help...... I would propose therefore, that you insert your Mediator into the RM.org database and that we copy our postings to the model. So we hopefully will find in the (near?) future another collector who can bring more light into this special case.

Kind regards, Walter Haring

Hello Walter

First I want to thank you very much for your willingness to find an equivalent Philips Model.

About the components: you are right; its loudspeaker is not the original one. Later, also I’ll need to look for one.

The other components seem to me that they were not changed. “IF” cans are inserted in chassis holes, specific designed for squared cans. So they seem to be the right ones in the right place. On these cans we can see on the first one: BV 2038; on the second one: BV2033.

Power Transformer inscription:   N111.

The voltages dial where fuse are placed on seems to be the right one.It is inserted also in specific holders.

About your proposal I agree, I would like to insert MD 2515A into RM.org data base.  But there is a problem: there are not this model in RM catalogue, and I don’t know yet how and where to insert it.

Can you help me to find the way in RM?

Thank you again

Best regards

Mário

MD2515A now inserted as model You aren't logged in. (Guest)    7

Dear Mario
I inserted now your model. I don't believe MD2515A was made in Switzerland. I don't know sufficiently if the Philips brand was used in France, Spain and/or in the Netherlands also.

Until one of our members (or I) find out more we give your radio a home in Switzerland, where Mediator was a well known brand of Philips Switzerland.

By the way: It would have been better to post to a new thread when seeing this article of Mr. Haring which belongs to the model Mediator 66A. Can you please open a new thread by selecting also English as language? You should do this via model MD2515A now installed. We then would answer again - and some day we will get good answers to this model? Thanks a lot.

We will be looking forward to your pictures (to the model) and I beg you to reduce quality to about 70 KB.
