Dear fellow collectors,

who can identify this radio? It has two metal covers, but the body is in plywood.

The tuning scale seems to be for the Belgian market.

The speaker is a Goodmans one.

The rectfier is a 117z3, other tubes are 1T4, DK91, and two other unreadable

Thank you

Dear Georges,

I can't help with the identification of this particular model. The manufacturer is clear however: STR in Schaerbeek, see the manufacturer entry.

Kind regards
Mark

Thank you very much, Mark.

So we know the seller. I went to Google Street view and found the location Rue Markelbach 67 in Schaarbeek.
This is a rather small house, in my opinion not suitable for manufacturing radios or other appliances.

I think that the set was made somwhere in the UK, and adapted for the Belgian market.

In the meantime I received a picture of another set, with the letters ASAG on the tuning scale. See picture in the attachment.

Do you have the invoice 1213 completely? If yes, what had been sold?

Best regards
G

Dear Georges,

Those were exactly my thoughts as I did the same thing. I frequently check the old locations out of curiosity, but also to get some idea about a manufacturer (if possible).

We cannot assume anything though. Imagine the legal seat being where the owner lives, with fabrication somewhere else, and maybe focussed on selling via catalogue (so no sales room). It's possible.

The invoice was for a Terola. You can see some adverts on Thierry's site.

I could not find anything about ASAG.

Kind regards
Mark
