I have written a quite detailed report about our progress and about where we stand now with Radiomuseum.org (RMorg) - but in German. Here I try to give you a summary in English. I hope that a member can translate in a new post those sentences and figures he/she would think the radio collector community should know about us.

Anyway: The aim is to achieve a real radio catalogue (radio catalog) and a reference work on radios and related items, radio history etc. In my opinion we are still far from that goal - but on the right track.

Summary:
We are now more than 4400 "logged in"- members - with a groth of about 900 per 2007. Nearly half of our members have done something for building up this site by uploading. This is a very high percentage in such a big organisation where nobody "has to".

We display 120 000 model pages and nearly 350 000 pictures including 136 000 schematics.

Alone for the US we exhibit 50 270 (48 752) models - 21 101 (15 486) of them with schematics. In total are 46 658 (27 954) US schematics available

11 489 (8844) US models show pictures. There are 27 230 (18 132) US model pictures in total.

In 2007 members loaded up 39 326 schematics = 107 each day!
Arpad Roth has controlled them for quality.

In 2007 members created 11 307 new models = 30 each day!
Those and 136 014 improvements were controlled each by two model admins.

In 2007 members loaded up 44 808 model pictures = 122 each day!
One of the picture admins did check and activate. A thorough check can seldom be done. Please tell us via contact form if something is wrong.

1400 members show their collection by uploading pictures to models.
378 members show their tube pictures.

Daily guests (visitors) = about 70 % - and members open between 6000 up to more than 8000 of our forum articles. Articles have been read up to 19 935 times!

In 2007 Radiomuseum.org has been visited by 3 million more visits than last year - in total 8,38 million visits. Radiomuseum.org delivers more than 120 000 pages each day plus 32 000 for searching engines. Daily there are between 6000 and 10 000 individual visitors looking up our pages including about 400 to 500 members a day.

I would like to say that we are by no means perfect - but together we are the worldwide top! Thanks to all active members and administrators for this overwhelming successful year.

Translation about details (from German) are welcome - and translation of this and perhaps following posts into other languages too. Please do not otherwise answer here.

Translation for the statistics 2008?

I have just seen that nobody did a translation of some comments in my posts about the statistics for 2008. It is just impossible for me to translate since I already have to work about 80 hours a week for RMorg. I think a full translation of "Statistik über Radiomuseum.org Jahr 2008" is not at all necessary - but a bigger summary than below would be most welcome.

Here I can only give you a few facts ( - at last):
January the 1st 2009 we were around 5300 members, nearly 1000 more than a year before - now we are 5900 members.

Mid 2008 some members estimated the time needed for our joint efforts - the results were independently between 500 000 to 600 000 hours of work.

We displayed about 140 model pages (20 000 more than a year before) and present now about 151 000 model descriptions with more than 550 000 pictures including 231 000 schematics ...

Clicking "Countries / Brands" one can see that over 60 000 models are for USA radio models - more than half of them show a schematic and a third of them a picture.

All this is resulting in about 133 000 pages a day to be delivered by our server in Zürich (June 2009 - it is more in winter time). Most of these pages are dynamic, by fetching data from various tables (real time corrections). Static are some model pages for guests etc.

How difficult our job sometimes can be you by clicking the model page for Majestic 71  and then by clicking the forum text below that model page. This shows also the unique automatic combination of model pages with other databases like tube data, related forum articles, collector prices, text for the manufacturer or brand, personal index etc.
