  • Notes
  • Rockwell-Collins 310Z-3 is the Swedish government version of the 310-2 exciter. Case dimensions are smaller, the switches and meter are moved to the hinged front panel, and the card cage is smaller.  Also bolted on the front door.  There also was a stereo FM option by adding a module.

Crystal controlled (oven stabilized), FM-band (87.5 - 108 MHz). No internal stereo generator. Swedish telecom (Teracom) ordered a set of 220 transmitters (including 20 spares) for the local radio stations.  They required that the 310Z-3 be tunable 1 MHz below and above band so that they could be used for military communications during any conflict with the Soviet Union.

    Output power 10 watts.

    29 transistors, 9 IC's, 1 thyristor
