    The Ever Ready N3 is the same basic design adapted for 25mA valves in 1954 or 1955 giving  then x2 life on the AD14.

    Compared to the later "N3", the drive cord is simpler (one side of scale) and the power switch is near the front opening. On both models the main panel is a painted steel pressing.

    The case height (in carry position) is inclusive of hinges, handle and catches. The bare cabinet is 246mm tall. The wieght excludes battery packs which add about 1.5kg. The cabinet depth and weight is slightly less than the later N3.

    The cabinet mix of plywood with hardboard top & bottom panels.The covering is vinyl and cloth Rexine like covering. The steel panel is hammerite like finish.

    Speaker mounts approximately 4.75" diagonal.

    The N to N3 design change is between Serial numbers  N619858 (an N) and N659420 (an N3)
