Contained 60 x "B" cells (U10) in series. A replica using 60 x alkaline AA cells is a little higher capacity (Zinc Carbon AA would be 1/2 capacity) and weighs 1.6kg (Zinc carbon AA are much lighter). Three B cells are used inside each flat "Flashlight Battery" such as Ever Ready 1289 or Varta Super 2012 3R12 (Some brands still available 2013).
Connection is by a socket at each end and flying leads with small plugs for + and -
About 2500mAH, so over 250 Hours possible on Radio. Basically the HT part of an AD3.
Post WWII used on Vidor CN420 "Regatta" and all earlier Vidor Riviera models from 1945. may have been used in older pre-1939 portables with wet or gel 2V Lead Acid LT (100mA @ 2V tubes)
