  • Notes
  • Beitman shows Grunow chassis: 12B, 12W for models: 1291, 1297 for the same schematic. The same is for Rider's page 7-35 for General Household. One might think both chassis are used for both models but we believe it is meant only that the Grunow chassis 12B is used for model 1291 and the 12W chassis for model 1297. Therefore we show two models, not 4 as other sources. This model has 12 metal tubes, 540-18,000 kc., Teledial, "beam" type power tube.

The Grunow model 1297 is al least by cabinet and most of the chassis (or all) the same as Grunow model 1291 but Stein "Pre-War Consoles", page 96 shows a wrong model for 1297 - with 5 knobs. We don't know yet the correct model number for that.

According to Rider's pgs 8-44 & 8-45 for Grunow, the power output tubes are 2-6F6 on chassis 12B (Model 1291), and 2-6L6 on chassis 12W (Model 1297). See this article containing Teledial models. Also Teledial models of other brands are covered. In particular the nine 1936/37 Grunow models presented in "Radio Retailing", March 1937, are linked.
