  • This is the Hallicrafters model 5R10A with an afterwards built in device for CONELRAD Civil Defense (CD) trigger, using one additional tube. The Color of this model is smooth "Smokey Black", no difference between Model 5R10A and 5R100A except the finish of the case and IF tube. See also the "untouched" models.

    See the two marks for the Civil-Defense (CD) distress frequencies at 640 and 1240 kHz on the scale of many ordinary broadcast recevers. The CONELRAD System was used 1951 through 1963.
