  • The Hewlett-Packard Spectrum Analyzer (Spektrum Analyzer) model 8558B is used  together with the viewer 182T.

    The analyzer uses analogue components and no ICs. It has features not found in digital analyzers, e.g. "manual scan or remote signal scan".

    Another possible combination is with display 180D. With the use of oscilloscope 180D the layout is horizontal instead of vertical.

    The price for the model in 1977 in Germany was DM 19286 plus tax.

My HP 8558B/182T lost horizontal sweep, using the external sweep  works, but not synchronously, of course.

I ask the experts acquainted with HP equipment, the horizontal  sweep is generated internally on the HP 182T or comes from the 8558B module, which I think is the case, and then I'm afraid to re-stir this technology monster.

PS: I accept PDf's or buy original paper manuals on HP182T.
