This model was suggested by Konrad Birkner.
The Dynaco ST-70 is one of the most famous and popular tube amplifiers in audio history. Because of its straight forward, simple design, generally excellent performance, it still enjoys an almost cult-like following around the world. During the 50s, 60s and 70s Dynaco built almost 300.000 of these excellent units. It was sold as assembled units or in kit form. I personally built one from a kit around 1964. Because it was so popular and easy to work on, it inspired a veritable cottage industry of modifications and upgrades, including the model pitcured here. This version was built by Andy Fuchs of Gnome Sound, Inc. (GSI). This particular variant, as did the stock Dynakit ST-70, produced 35 watts per channel, and featured a tube complement of 4 EL34s (2 per channel) in the output section; 2 12AX7s and 2 6CG7s in the Driver stage (one each per channel). This modification also did away with the 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier tube in favor of solid state rectification.
