  • Notes
  • Screen gride battery set. Later version of model Brandeset IIIA but using screen grid valves. This model 102 has a single tuning control, the very similar model 163 has dual tuning controls.

The radio has reaction over 2 valves, from the grid of the PM12 to the anode of the PM1HF.

In order to function well, the chokes in the anode of the PM12 have to have a self resonance lower than the lowest frequency of the band selected.

The reaction on LW relies at the cable capacitance between the tuning capacitor wiring and the reactance capacitor wiring, wich are closely routed for approx 3 inches, The connection from the reactance capacitor and the grid of the PM12 is switched OFF during LW reception to avoid excessive reactance.
