  • The Lafayette model A-240 is a Tom Thumb brand from Automatic Radio Mfg. Boston. They call it "3 in 1" Personal - see Rider's 13-1 or model ID=33848 - but maybe there was really also a "4 in 1" Personal Portable as Lafayette calls this one. See also a similar model with built in camera as ID=72019. Tuning range is 1620 to 542 kc. Power selector is for AC-DC, Battery and charge (rejuvenation). It holds 2 ordinary flashlight cells type D, size 1 1/4" diameter by 2 3/8" length and a 67.5 volt "B" battery Eveready type 467 or equavalent, size 1 1/4" by 2 5/8" by 3 5/8". Built in loop antenna. The catalog does not name the tube 1R5 but only 3 tubes ...
