Unusual slot-type 78 RPM record player, often referred to as the Philco "Bing Crosby" phonograph, due to his appearance in advertisements for this radio/phonograph in early 1947. The record-in-slot phonograph was designed by Emil I. Harman, a German designer who joined Philco after World War I. Cabinet has faux printed wood grain and painted sides.  The Philco 48-1201 is nearly identical to the Philco 46-1201 Revised.  Both are also referred to by Philco as model 1201. The 46 and 48 are prefixes referring to model years.
