Notes
this collectable radio was made by Universal Publicizers Inc. Located at 936 Michigan Ave Chicago ILL. It was preset to one frequency only within the broadcast band. It was sold to the thousands of radio stations thruout the USA. Each station had their call leters on the case (they paid NR costs for special case lettering & special info which appeared on the case). The speaker is mounted downward in the base. These sets were "hand outs" by the station's sales departments to advertisers for the particular radio station.
This model was suggested by Marvin J. Glassman.
This is my collectable Novelty radio from the early 1950s. It only plays one station. It was preset at the factory & used to promote a particular radio station. It contains 5 miniature tubes & uses only 1 IF can. The 5 inch PM speaker is mounted in the base.
This is a view with the cover removed. You can see the cap trimmer where the manufacture could trim & adjust the frequency slightly for the exact station received
