Notes
For the chassis RC-456 RCA sold (at least) the three models 46X11, 46X12 and 46X13. They differ only in the case: 46X11 (Mahagony) and 46X12 (Antique-Ivory) with plastic and 46X13 in wood (Walnut Veneer) with different grille. The dial lamp is a Mazda Nº 47, 6.3 V, 0.15 amp. which works in series with a plug in resistor (86892-9 for 790 ohm) in form of a metal tube.

RCA Victor Instruments Service Notes 1939
I purchased this radio @ one of our clubs swapmeets earlier this year. I had to repair do it works well now. In addition, I did have to clean & refinish most of the cabinet.
This is a semi rear view of the set. I did get a picture of the octal resistor (ballast ?) It is interesting that it seems to only operate pilot light so it has the same light brightness from initial turn on.
