    Toshiba Model TR-193.  Made in Japan.  Labeled as 'Reflex' since the output transistor does a double duty of first extracting the audio signal from radio frequency and then passing the audio signal again to amplify it before the audio signal reaches the loudspeaker.

    Some versions of TR-193 have five transistors rather than four.

    Toshiba coded the date of manufacture into a radio's serial number.  The 1st digit is the final digit of year of manufacture (9 for 1959).  The 2nd and 3rd digits are the month of manufacture.  The 5 remaining digits are the base serial number.
