Notes
In the literature you find 4 loudspeakers for the model "Spanish Deluxe" from Zenith but in reality it is one. Spanish Deluxe comes with two dials (primary tuning control knobs); tuned 100-550 meters. There is a sliding device for tone control (loudness) on the right of the dial and knobs. The models of Spanish DeLuxe come with a built in coil aerial. The Spanish Deluxe with power unit has below two additional chassis: ZE15 power pack and ZE16 filter pack. The speaker is a Peerless dynamic speaker. The sticker inside shows the following chassis/models: 39, 39A; 392, 392A.
See also the early "Spanish Deluxe" which comes with the same cabinet but is for battery operation. The Spanish Deluxe is the most expensive receiver Zenith ever made and at that time a car did even cost less.

Zenith Radio The Early, Cones,97Zenith Radio The Early Years 1919-1935, 1997 by Harold Cones and John Bryant
by courtesy of Jim Peters, USA
By courtesy of Jim Peters, USA. This has been the most expensive radio in series Zenith ever made. Jim told me: I believe this was a later model built in 1928 or 1929 as the AC powered sets were out and installed in this set. The chassis is from a model 392, or 39A set introduced in 1928. The label inside verifys the chassis was installed by Zenith as original. The chassis model 392 SN #209017, The ZE15 power pack SN #389, and the ZE16 filter pack SN #371. The speaker is a Peerless dynamic speaker. The cabinet is 53 high, 56 wide and 20 1/4 deep. The front panel opens to allow for access to the batteries used in the earlier sets. This set cost $2500.00 when new. I believe I am the fourth owner of this radio, I was told it was originally bought by two fellows in Chicago named Ballinger and Katz who put it the lobby of one of their very elaborate movie theaters in Chicago, the Marlboro Theater.
