    See different chassis variants of the Zenith Transistorized Shortwave Portable Radio series Royal 1000 like the 9AT40, the 9CT..., the 9HT ... and the Trans-Oceanic Royal 1000D and the Trans-Oceanic Royal 1000-1 Ch= 9HT40Z8 which was the last model of the series 1000. There is an ad in "The National Geographic Magazine" 1957, December and we beleive the first Trans-Oceanic 1000 was introduced in November 1957.

    Bryant/Cones (1995), page 100 states that the 1000 series was first introduced in December 1957 for the 1958 line and was last offered in 1963.  The chassis for this model is the last in the series.
