Hello all......I need guidance in repair of chart and dial lights. They are not working, and the bulbs are good. I am having trouble finding them in schematic. There must be a common part that is disabling. I am not getting voltage on pins that attach to chart light.  All help appreciated...Thanks  AL

Hi all....Happy New Year!  For everyones info....The dial and chart lights do not work without the batteries inserted! So even when AC is working....the radio needs batteries to work lights.....AL

hello. you need one d-cell installed in order for the dial and map lights to work. there's a place in the back for a single d-cell, and that's where it goes. i hope this clears up your problem...

...those front panel slide switches in these are known to develop contact oxidation over time.  I had that same issue with the D7000Y I just got last month (I knew about it before I bought it; the eBay seller had said in his description that the lights and battery indicator weren't working), but noticed that if I worked the switch back and forth a few times, the dial lights would blink momentarily and the meter would jump.  A little De-Ox-It in the dial light/battery meter switch got them working properly...so I proceeded to put some into all the switches and controls.  It would not be a bad idea to use some of that or a similar contact cleaner on those switches (it will be necessary to pull the chassis to do it), and it may even get your lights working as well.  If not, I believe those are #123 bulbs.

There is receptacle for a special mains plug. To insert it, a slider must be pushed aside which simultaneously changes the mode from battery to mains operation.  see attached pictures.
