Min. Duotriode, 6J6 selected for improved cutoff and high zero-bias plate current, sold only to IBM for computer use. Tubes failing the selection became regular 6J6. Intro. 1949; superseded 1952 by type 1684. Bulbs were to be etched „6J6,“ not „1679“ and branded with „IBM“ and their part nos. 6J3000 and 300703. [Information by L. Sibley]
