Description

According to the nomenclature, an octal tube 6E8 without a suffix as -G, -GT, etc. would presume a metal version of this tube, which apparently does not exist, but there are metal-glass (MG) tubes stamped as 6E8, see also under 6E8G and 6E8MG.
