Niedervolt-Röhre für 6 und 12V-Auto-Akkus für die Anodenspannung, kurz vor der Übernahme dieser Domäne durch Transistoren. Für Autos entstanden wenige Hybridradios (mit Röhren UND Transistoren) mit solchen Niedervoltröhren wie die EF97, EF98, ECC86, ECH83 und dieser EBF83. Beispiel Philips Paladin-Autoradio von 1958-60.
