The company was formed in the late 1880s as partnership between Alfred Graham, Edward Graham and Arthur Dearlove and officially established in 1894. In the 1910s Alfred Graham & Co. offered a range of naval telephones (loudspeakers) and complete installations for naval vessels, as well as telephone switchboards. In the early 1920s, the company marketed the Graham Electrical Autohorn, as well as permanent magnets. The company was divided into two limited companies end of 1926: Alfred Graham & Co. Ltd. (operating the naval side of the business), and Graham Amplion Limited (responsible for the manufacture and sale of loudspeakers and other radio related products). In 1939, Graham Amplion Ltd. was struck off the register of companies, in 1962 they were wound up by the High Court on application of Optical Products Ltd., a supplier.
