History:

E. Matchlett and son were manufacturers of scientific glassware from 1897. They were also pioneers of X-ray technology  Matchlett Laboratories was formed in 1934 to make X-ray tubes. Industrial and transmitting tubes were soon to follow, with a wide range available. They also did work for the US Atomic Energy Commission. 

Raytheon Manufacturing Company acquired Matchlett during World War Two
