In 1969, it became ELTEL and focused its production on special tubes. Still today, it is active in microwave tubes, with the name of Galileo Avionica, ALELCO.

History:
ELSI was founded in Palermo, Sicily Italy, 1n 1956 by Raytheon and Machlett. For years it produced tubes for civil and military uses, cathode ray tubes and semiconductors. Since 1962 its production was fully qualified and tubes came out marked Raytheon or Raytheon-ELSI. In 1969 ELSI became ELTEL, Industria Elettronica Telecomunicazioni, a public owned company, dedicated to special tubes.
The plant was acquired by Alenia and continued to design and produce microwave tubes and components with the name of ALELCO, Alenia Elettronica Componenti, then Galileo Avionica, still active.
