In the fifties the Red Bank Division of the Bendix Corporation designed many special tubes to be used in avionic equipment. Its production included several standard tubes, rectifiers, amplifiers and other, redesigned to grant the maximum reliability and to withstand the most severe flight and landing conditions.

In addition to the 'classic' functions, Red Bank introduced some non-conventional devices, such as the Convectron or the Cronotrons, in response to specific avionic problems.
