History:

According to an article in the New York Times, dated April 20, 1924, The Atlantic and Pacific Radio Corporation had just commenced operations at 223 West Thirty Fourth Street, New York City. This new company was not a manufacturer but a large scale opulent retail radio store. The management believed that customer relations were as important as marketing. There was also a complete radio laboratory equipped with the latest in all types of radio testing apparatus and the engineers were able to solve many of the problems brought to them. Some larger radios could have their circuits tested with a rack of different coloured light bulbs "colour coded" for each different circuit (A, B & C batteries). The senior engineer was a Benjamin Vilkomerson. In later years he worked for RCA and applied for several patents on radio apparatus, particularly in World War Two.

Morgan McMahon's book "Radio Collectors Guide" lists four radios available from the company, two table models and two kit sets. An advertisement for the company which was in Radio News, May 1925 shows the compasny still at the same address.

This manufacturer was suggested by Fin Stewart.
