History:

Martin Peter Pedersen (1887-1979) was an active radio amateur of the early days in Denmark and got a position in Poulsen's Danish company, Det kontinentale Syndikat, just after he had graduated as an electrical engineer in 1912. After that he changed to the English arc company the Universal Radio Syndicate. Here, he met another Danish electrical engineer, Otto Skovmand. In 1914 they formed their own company called "Skovmand & Pedersen". Otto Skovmand died premature in 1919 after which Pedersen changed the name of the company to M.P. Pedersen. In the early days, Pedersens company produced various kinds of radio equipment, the most of which was based on CW and de Forests Audion, which they introduced to Denmark.

M. P. Pedersen produced his own radio tubes, mainly power tubes, especially for his own use, from the 1920s to the late 1930s. However, it was impossible to keep up with technical developments in the field, and at the same time it became disproportionately expensive, so the company had to give up this production.

M.P. Pedersen is said to have also dealt with telegraph keys for spark transmitters in the the early days. The company was active until the 1960s at last focussing on amateur equipment.
