Until the 1990s, Brazil had strong restrictions on imported products and, as the internal market has always been significant, large business groups settled in the country. RCA was no exception and in 1957 they opened a plant for vacuum tube production installed in the state of Minas Gerais.

It was the second in the country; since 1955 the tube factory of Ibrape (Philips group) was in operation. Both companies also produced TV picture tubes.

This manufacturer was suggested by Vitor Oliveira.
