1939 Founded "Showa Electric Industry Ltd." In Minato-ku, Tokyo
1944 Yasuda Insurance bought the company for expansion of the production. Started manufacturing special vacuum tube (Acon tube) for Japanese Navy. 1945 Tokyo Shirogane factory was burned down by war. The factory was moved to Okaya-shi, Nagano, by Navy's order. The company name was changed to Okaya Radio. 1950 Started manufacturing MT tube. 1960 Started manufacturing compact size capacitors at Okaya factory. 1961 Headead office was moved to Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Started assembling and selling USA IEE projection display. 1965 Built new factory for electronic tube in Saitama. 1967 Had a contract with USA IEE to be their distributor in Asian area. Company name was changed to Okaya Electric Industries, Co. Ltd. 1973 Founded Taiwan Rodan Co. 1986 Founded Tohoku Rodan as group company. 1989 Founded Okaya Electric America. 1993 Founded Okaya Hong Kong. 1995 Founded China factory in Dongguan and Okaya Electric Singapore. 1998 Founded Okaya Hong Kong Trading. |
