In the 1970s and later the name was Elmer-Montedel. Development and manufacture of an Airborne Transceiver, 0.5 - 30 MHz, 480 W pep.

Elmer started manufacturing military communication equipment around the early sixties. It was owned by Edison.
In the years its ownership changed many times, before being bought by British Ferranti.
