History:

The roots of company are in 1918, when Odelga Magyar Gyógytechnika Ipar Rt. (Hungarian Medical Technic Industry Co.) was founded. Since 1925 Siemens invested  more and more to this company and became the main shareholder. Company became in 1930 to Magyar Siemens Reiniger Veifa Rt., since 1933 it was renamed to Magyar Siemens Reiniger Rt.

After WW2, based on Potsdam Agreement, Siemens, as a German property became under Soviet control, but in 1952 the Hungarian government bought it back and at this time was founded  Röntgen és Orvosi Készülékek Gyára (Röntgen and Medical Devices Plant), in 1953 became to the market brand Medicor and in 1963, by merge of 6 Hungarian medical tools and devices factories (Medicor Röntgen Művek, Budapesti Orvosi Műszergyár, Fogorvosi Műszergyár, Kórházi Berendezések Gyára, Debreceni Orvosi Műszergyár and Kontakta Vállalat) was found Medicor Művek.

After first financial troubles in 1987 company was reorganized to 10 joint-stock companies under supervising of Medicor Irányító Vállalat.Company became stable in 1989 after next reorganization to Medicor Holding. In 1993 it was acquired by Postabank, but 1998 it bankrupted and became under government control, in 2000 company was sold to Generel Electric and consolidated again, later it was split to 6 separate companies, the successor one is active until today under MEDICOR Elektronika Zrt.
