History:

International Traders Ltd. was inaugurated in November 1934 for importing and distributing Airzone radios from Australia with a special introductory offer of the Airzone Baby Grand Midget at £9/17/6. [1]

This was followed soon after with the importation of Fairbanks Morse radios from the US. [2]

American Bosch radios were imported in June 1936 starting with the CentrOmatic Model 575Q. [3]

They advertised the British Bush PB15 radio in early 1940. [4]

The company advertised for staff for radio manufacturing work in early 1940 and the late John Stokes in The Golden Years of Radio stated that the American Bosch and Bush radios were imported in a partly finished state for final assembly and fitting into locally made cabinets.

Between 1940 and 1942 the company manufactured sets of its own design using the Bush name when wartime conditions prevented importation.

In 1946 manufacture was recommenced using the name “EIL” (Electric Industries Ltd).

Between 1948 and 1950 car radios were manufactured under license to Motorola Inc., U.S.A.

The company ceased operations in 1955. [5]
