Wellington and distributors for New Zealand were Todd Motors Ltd., Wellington. Initially, in early 1932 the first Radion radios were distributed by H. W. Clarke Ltd., however, by October 1932 the distribution shifted to Todd Motors. [1][2] Radion advertising by Todd Motors Ltd. had ceased by early 1939. [3]

Todd Motor Company was established in 1923 under Desmond Todd (1897-1970) as motor vehicle distributor for Wolseley. Todd Motors Ltd. was registered in 1931 with a capital of £165,000 by the Todd family to carry on business manufacturers, importers, and dealers in motorcars and general incidental. [4] The company distributed Radion brand radios from 1932 until 1939. Todd Motor Industries was established in 1935 to manufacture vehicles under Andrew Todd (1904-1976) at the Petone site. Todd Motor Industries expanded to the Todd Park motor vehicle assembly plant in 1975 for cars, commercial, and trucks. The company was sold to Mitsubishi in 1987.[5]
