A/S arako

Shop: Frederiksgade 45, Århus C

Arako had a number of shops and perhaps also offices around Copenhague, but it seems the main seat was for most of the time in Aarhus.

Founded: 1932
Closed: 1990
History:

Arako developed from the Workers' Radio Club (Arbejdernes Radioklub), which in the 1920s were small laboratories where you could bring your radios and get help testing them from engineers who made their knowledge available to members. After testing, a sticker was put on the radio  "Tested at the Laboratory of the Workers' Radio Club".

Arako Radio in Århus opened its first shop in Nørregade 18-20 in January 1932.

Production seems to have ended around 1957 (source?).

The shares of A/S Arako were sold to H.B. in 1962.

At the end of the 1960s the company was mainly an electronics shop. They were representatives for National Panasonic and B&O.

The shop closed its doors on 20 January 1990.

This manufacturer was suggested by Timo Rantasaari.
