The dry battery and magnetic tape divisions of Nitto Electric lndustrial Co., Ltd. were set up independently as Maxell Electric lndustrial Co., Ltd. in 1961. 1964 the name was changed to Hitach Maxell Ltd. After delisting at Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchange, Maxell becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. |
