Prior to 1925 the name was The Otto Higel Company Limited, which did not produce radios; It was a piano company which only distributed radios of other brand: Ware, Federal, and TheMohawk.

The Canadian magazine "Radio" of June 1926 said Higel would now manufacture radios in Canada. 1926 models were named H, I, G, E, and L. Ref.: Lloyd Swackhammer: 'Radios of Canada', p.56.
