Oliviero Pigini iniziò nel dopoguerra a produrre fisarmoniche, convertendo nel 1959 il proprio stabilimento alla produzione di chitarre che precedentemente importava. Nel 1967 Oliviero Pigini venne a mancare e con lui terminò la fase storica della Eko.
Negli anni'80 il fratello Lamberto Pigini riuscì a riprendere l'attività portando la "EKO" a diventare uno dei più prestigiosi marchi Italiani produttori ed importatori di strumenti musicali.
