Abbreviation: viscount
Products: Model types
Summary:

Viscount (Consolidated Merchandising Corp.)
520 West 34th Street, New York, NY 10001  (1969)
59-50 Queens Midtown Expwy, Maspeth, NY 11378  (1971)

Also known as Consolidated Merchandise Corp.

The Viscount brand was used for radios imported from Japan and other Far East locations as well as walkie-talkies, dry cell batteries and AC adaptors.

According to the "Electron" magazine Sept. 1971 issue, "Consolidated Merchandising" was reorganized to form Webcor Electronics, division of U.S. Industries in mid 1971 (see Webcor). If this also applied to the Viscount brand is uncertain.

Consolidated Merchandising Corp. is believed to be a successor to Consolidated S.M. Corp. who also distributed the Viscount brand.  This may have happened in 1966 based on the trademark dates noted below.

Founded: 1966
History:

Consolidated Merchandising Corp. filed the trademark Viscount in June 27, 1966 with a reported first use in May 11, 1966. The trademark was registered in August 22, 1967.

This manufacturer was suggested by Wolfgang Scheida.
