ICOTRON is a Siemens Group company acting in the field of industrial electronics and components for consumer electronics.

Founded: 1954
History:

In 1954 the local company Icotron was acquired by Siemens who in 1962 set up a factory in the city of Gravataí, Rio Grande do Sul. Icotron produced in Brasil a wide range of electronic components, mainly capacitors and power semiconductors for use in industrial applications, electric traction and electronic modules for the automotive industry. Also produced semiconductors and passive components for consumer electronics.

In 1999, due to the association Siemens-Matsushita and the creation of Epcos, Icotron was renamed Epcos do Brasil Ltda., which is now headquarter for the operations in South and Central America. Its products are exported worldwide.
