Electrice Limited (Sydney, NSW) was registered 28/10/1924 to manufacture under licence Groh refrigerators from Canada. The company went into liquidation in 1927 and was taken over by the Electricity Meter Manufacturing Co. Ltd (EMMCO). EMMCO, later EMAIL, continued to manufacture "Electrice" branded whitegoods, including refrigerators & electric rangehoods well into the 1960's. Later EMAIL whitegoods products were branded "Westinghouse". Between 1960 & 1970 EMAIL marketed under the "Electrice" brand rebadged AWA manufactured radios & television receivers. These receivers were identical, albeit with minor cosmetic changes, to the AWA versions. |
