The Electric Lamphouse Ltd.

Retailer of electric goods, Ensign brand radios, radio parts and Kitset radios from 1929 until the early 1950’s. They were based in Wellington. They also imported Andrea radios from the USA in 1938.

They sold Ensign Radios brand receivers from 1938.
It is not clear who manufactured these radios in New Zealand.

They produced an annual sales catalogue of their products. The first issue, called 'The N.Z. Radiogram Annual', and was issued in May 1932. This name continued until 1938 when it changed to 'Lamphouse Annual'. The final issue was 1952/53. These catalogues proved to be very popular among radio enthusiasts as they not only listed their products but were full of articles on Amateur Radio, kit sets, circuits, charts, and hints for the home constructor.[1]
