Ainsworth Radio Company Trade name: Ranger The Gates Radio Company of Cincinnati ohio was owned by Howard A. Gates. They produced several radio sets in their short few years. Gates joined hands with Leo Ainsworth and the company became Ainsworth-Gates in 1924, and then Ainsworth Radio in 1925. One radio, the Gates 2-1-2 Jr, is known and advertized. In the November 1924, The Radio Trade Directory, under the heading manufacturers of Vacuum Tube Sets on page 82, the Ainsworth-Gates Radio Company was located at 46 Main Street in Cincinnati, Ohio. Apparently sometime in 1925 the company moved and changed it's name by dropping Gates from the name. In the August 1926 edition of the McGraw-Hill Radio Trade Catalog on page 210 the Ainsworth Radio Company was now located at 306 Main Street in Cincinnati, Ohio. |
