History:

The company was started by Charles Eckersley Forrest in 1922 and registered in June 1923.[1]

The company was the first commercial broadcaster (2YB) in New Zealand and used a De Forrest transmitter.[2] Forrest formed a special company, Wellington Broadcasters Ltd., to carry on the broadcasting side of the business.[3]

Forrest moved to Australia in June 1923 and established International Radio Co. Ltd., Sydney.[2]
