Name: Osram (tubes/valves) - see British General Electrics; Sydney    (AUS)
Abbreviation: osram
Products: Brand
Summary:

Osram was a brand of tubes used by the "Osram" Valve Department of the British General Electric in Australia.

Osram valves were perhaps first imported from the General Electric Company (see Osram-Valves) but later arrangements were made with different manufacturers:

Rogers-Majestic made a range of 31 receiving valves for BGE in Australia and New Zealand. There were 31 tubes and they were advertised on page 6 of Wireless Weekly, September 21, 1934, as the "Empire Series". The boxes were sealed with a special process.

Amalgamated Wireless Valve also made a range of Osram valves for BGE. They were advertised in a 1935 Fox and McGillicuddy Ltd catalogue (a general radio and electrical dealer).

History:

This manufacturer was suggested by Fin Stewart.
